Hair Conditioning Recipes

These hair conditioning recipes can be used every time before you shampoo if you have dry hair. If you have oily hair, just use it on the ends of your hair. Using a conditioner will help strengthen and restore your hair’s texture and luster. You only need a small amount and you can distribute it through out your hair with your fingers or a wide toothed comb.

Hair Conditioning Recipes:

Both of these Conditioning recipes you will need 30 minutes for. The good part about them though is, this can be done before your shower.

For the first one all you need is 3 to 4 tablespoon of Mayonnaise. Wet your hair. Then with a towel pat dry just enough to remove the excess water out. At this time apply the mayonnaise to your hair and wrap in a towel for 30 minutes. Rinse, then shampoo.

The other conditioning recipe will use the same process but instead of using the mayonnaise we will use 2 to 3 tablespoons of yogurt with one egg.
With both of these recipes you will want to take time to massage these conditioning ingredients in to your scalp. Making sure that your hair is covered with the ingredients. The two main benefits are sheen and manageability. Both of these hair conditioning recipes work will on African- American hair.

This homemade hair conditioning recipe is good for Asian Hair. This is also a pre-shampoo conditioner.
The nice part about this recipe is you make it up the night before and refrigerate it over night, it will be ready to go in the morning. You will need:

2 eggs
1 ounce caster oil
1/2 ounce olive oil
1 ounce melted unsalted butter
2 ounces plain yogurt
1 banana

Combine all of these ingredients in to a blender until creamy. In the morning apply to the hair in sections, making sure you get it on the ends of your hair. You will also want to massage into your scalp. After it has been in your hair for 20 minutes, rinse out, then shampoo.

Tahitian Cocoa Butter Conditioner.

The Tahitian woman use cocoa butter for their skin as will as for their hair. It helps to protect against the harmful effects of the strong tropical sun. You will want to make sure you use 100 percent cocoa butter.

1/2 cup safflower oil or sweet almond oil
1 tablespoon cocoa butter
1 tablespoon lanolin or soya margarine

Place the oil and lanolin in a double boiler or you can use the microwave. After this is melted add the cocoa butter. Mix until all of the ingredients are dissolved. Place in a jar ten do not forget to put a label on it. This is good for dry hair or for hair that has been out in the sun. Take it on your next vacation. You will want to massage it into your scalp and wrap it in a warm towel for 1 to 2 hours. Then shampoo out.
